You and the enemy each hold a strip of ground behind your own wall. Stand up to shoot over it, but that shows your head; crouch to hide. The enemy hides too, so shoot their wall to open holes, and watch for dust, tracers and muzzle smoke to find them. Supply drops (health, rockets, shotgun shells, treasure) land on the open ends of your zone, so grabbing one means leaving cover. Win 2 of 3 rounds to win the match; rounds last up to 3 minutes.

Controls
Keyboard and mouse: WASD move, mouse to aim, left click to fire, right click to scope, Space crouch, Shift sprint, 123 weapons, R reload. A left-handed preset (IJKL) is built in and every key can be changed.
Phone and tablet: play in landscape. A floating joystick moves you (push to the rim to sprint), drag to look, tap anywhere to fire, and flick up or down to stand or crouch.
Difficulty
Easy, Normal, Hard and Ultra Hard. Harder bots aim better, remember where you like to hide, break the wall right in front of you and punish every peek; Ultra Hard sends 2 bots at once, and you can take on up to 5. Harder difficulties pay more credits, which buy upgrades: better weapons, armor, a helmet and boots.

Tips
- Keep moving along your wall between peeks, so the enemy can't pre-aim where you were.
- Crouched right behind a wall, a rocket on that wall still hurts you: back off toward the rear of your zone.
- In fog, rain and at night, muzzle flashes and sound are often all you get.
- Grab supply drops while the enemy is reloading.

Yes. Cover Shotz is free to play in your web browser, with no sign-up and no payments.
Do I need to download anything?
No. It runs in any modern browser on a computer, phone or tablet. Open covershotz.com and play.
Can I play on my phone?
Yes. Turn your phone sideways: a floating joystick moves you, tap anywhere to fire, and flick up or down to stand or crouch. You can also add it to your home screen to play full screen.
How long is a match?
A match is best of 3 rounds, and each round lasts up to 3 minutes, so a whole match fits into a short break.
Is it multiplayer?
Right now you play against computer-controlled bots, from 1 up to 5 at once, on four difficulties. Online play is being built.
Does it save my progress?
Yes. Credits and upgrades are saved in your browser, so they are there next time you play on the same device.
What kind of game is it?
